2,500+ Physicians, Health Practitioners, and Industry Leaders Convene for Spring 2008 World Anti-Aging Conference:

The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), Conference Co-Sponsor, Launches Educational Initiatives on Behalf of Its Professional Members

More than 2,500 participants from the medical, scientific, and business arenas convened for the 16th Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine's Spring 2008 Session. Held April 25-27 in Florida, this event attracted the physicians, health practitioners, and scientists representing more than 40 nations around the world.

This program was the first of three events taking place in the United States in 2008 to be co-sponsored by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M; www.worldhealth.net), the academic leader in a worldwide movement in life enhancement and life extension that impacts more than 550,000 physicians and health practitioners in 100+ countries.

Robert Goldman, M.D., Ph.D., D.O., FAASP, Chairman of the A4M, welcomes participants to the Spring 2008 Session of the 16th Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine and Regenerative Biomedical Technologies Ronald Klatz, M.D., D.O., President of the A4M, addresses the audience on “Anti-Aging Medicine as the New Wellness Model for Healthcare”

The 16th Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine's Spring 2008 Session offered attending physicians Category 1 AMA/PRA Credits. The event presented scientific educational programming in some of the most promising arenas of preventive medicine. With two days of Advanced Workshops prefacing the core three-day conference program, more than 80 world-renowned clinicians and researchers presented the latest data on cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs in human longevity. Highlights from the program included:

Eduardo DeRose, M.D., Ph.D., full professor of Sports Medicine at Rio Grande do Sul State University (Brazil) and member of the International Olympic Committee Medical Commission and World Anti-Doping Agency, spoke on “Olympics 2008: Sports Medicine Past, Present, and Future” Mark Gordon, M.D., Associate Clinical Professor at University of Southern California and University of California/Los Angeles (USA), presented the latest diagnostic and treatment protocols for Interventive Endocrinology
Ron Rothenberg, M.D., Clinical Professor at University of California San Diego (USA), spoke on “Thyroid Hormone Deficiency: Diagnosis and Treatment” in a standing-room only Workshop session Mitchell Ghen, D.O., Ph.D., Medical Director of Age Diagnostic Laboratories, discussed “Regenerative Medicine Update: Stem Cells and Functional Testing”
Shari Lieberman, Ph.D., Founding Dean of New York Chiropractic College MS Degree program in Clinical Nutrition, discussed “An Integrative Approach to Cancer Therapy” Daisy Merney, M.D., Ph.D., President of the Women Physicians of Palm Beach County (Florida), spoke on “Hormonal Balance, Neurotransmitters, and Weight Loss”

Observes Robert Goldman, M.D., Ph.D., D.O., FAASP, A4M Chairman: “The Spring 2008 Session of the 16th Annual World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine and Regenerative Biomedical Technologies drew delegates representing more than 40 nations. With presentations sharing the newest breakthroughs in laboratory diagnostics, nutritional and hormone therapies, stem cell technology, and molecular medicine, the event offers a broad range of topics that are specifically relevant to the practice of anti-aging medicine in the clinical office setting.”

Adds Ronald Klatz, M.D. D.O., A4M President: “The A4M is comprised of the most progressive group of physicians and health practitioners in the world. Each excels in their knowledge of advanced preventative medicine and seeks to provide the most effective medical expertise to their patients. As such, the Annual World Congresses are the premier educational environment at which these knowledge-seeking delegates learn the very latest in research and clinical findings on cutting-edge topics relating to human longevity.”

At the co-located Orlando Anti-Aging Exposition, over 300 international companies showcased the latest technologies from the medical and biotech market aimed at improving and/or extending the healthy human lifespan.

The A4M is keenly committed to a variety of educational initiatives in both the peer-to-peer and consumer arenas. Dr. Klatz comments that: “The A4M supports the Fellowship in Anti-Aging & Regenerative and Functional Medicine Fellowship, as well as the new Aesthetic Anti-Aging Fellowship. Currently, more than 400 physicians and health practitioners are enrolled in these two Fellowship programs.” Adds Dr. Goldman: “We now have 2,500+ participants in the American Board of Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM) and American Board of Anti-Aging Health Practitioners (ABAAHP) certification programs. This reflects a clear commitment by those practicing advanced preventive medicine to become credentialed in the fast-growing specialty of anti-aging medicine.”
